A small, but very fun, project, for application of a retail Media system. IamSigns have a ground-breaking integrated keypad and video system for interactive retail displays. But they needed a ‘simpler than the simplest’ video show maker for customers to be able to assemble their own retail marketing video and slide shows.

How do you spec out in detail an application that neither party really knows what will look like in the end? You can't. But IamSigns needed a price. Ignition Software fleshed out the required high-level functionality and agreed upon a fixed price. IamSigns, in turn, adjusted the feature-set to keep within budget during development.

For us this project was great fun. And it was fantastic validation that with trust and collaboration, an iterative style of development can still succeed with a fixed budget, flexible feature-set, clear goals and realistic timeframes.
